Graham Wants To Nationalize Banks
"Big Government" Lindsey Graham's thinking runs parallel to his Progressive brothers in Congress when it comes to solving economic problems. Graham is a lawyer [as he constantly reminds us] and has no background in economics. This doesn't stop him from wanting Washington to "Nationalize" the banking industry. That's right, Graham wants the Government to own and control all U.S. banks as the solution to banking problems.
In this interview on [Liberal] ABC News, Graham is asked by [former presidential advisor to Bill Clinton] George Stephanopoulos, what needs to be done to fix problems in the banking industry.

The U.S. Congress is taking steps to make embedded YouTube presentations a violation of copyright laws. "Senators Want To Put People In Jail For Embedding YouTube Videos". It seems that having their own words repeated in a video makes them very uncomfortable! Our embedded presentation is now a link to YouTube. This represents the chilling effect such legal tampering will have on the public's right to know what they are saying and doing. Also read: "Embedding YouTube Videos May Soon Be a Felony".

- Social Security Trust Fund Fraud [Government Bond IOU's].
- One balanced budget in over 30 years.
- No budget produced in 2010 to run the government.
- The Congressional Post Office scandal [embezzlement and money laundering].
- 89,000 stimulus checks sent to dead people.
- The House Banking Scandal [19 Democrats and 3 Republicans bouncing thousands of checks].
- Government Banks Freddie & Fannie cooking the books and covering up the evidence, then going on to squander over a hundred billion more tax dollars.
Considering that it was Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd and House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank that created the banking mess in the first place, Graham sees an opportunity to assert total control over our entire monetary system. Never mind that Lindsey Graham and fellow politicians were totally inept at controlling the quasi-governmental banks "Fannie Mae" and "Freddie Mac", who lost hundreds of billions of tax dollars. This aside, Graham still sees government control as the solution to the government created problem.
Since 1984, Lindsey Graham has spent only about four years in the private sector (1988-1992). Being an Air Force Lawyer, an Air Force Reservist, and a politician, tax money has comprised a large majority of Lindsey Graham's income. It's understandable why Graham believes that fixing the "free market" economy is the purview of the government. With almost no private sector experience and a life long government income, what else should we expect from Graham.
Graham is oblivious to how Americans feel about having their back-pockets totally controlled by Washington. Think of having your checking and savings accounts under the thumb of politicians who have recklessly spent every dollar they could get their hands on:
After the scheme to nationalize the banking system is passed, imagine going to the teller window to get cash for your vacation and being told by a government drone, "the policy manual says I can only give you half of what you want, and only after you fill out the travel permission form".
What's also possible is having to fill out a 1099 tax form when withdrawing more than $600 from your account. This law has already been passed in a provision in the new ObamaCare law requiring small businesses to file 1099's for each transaction that exceeds $600. If it is happening to small business, it can happen to you. Consider the poor truckers that have to fill their 285 gallon fuel tanks for a long-haul trip costing $700, forcing them to file a 1099 Form with Washington every time they buy fuel.
Two questions are appropriate here: why did they set the obviously low $600 reporting limit, and why does the Federal Government need to know every time we spend a little cash? If you get groceries, fill up your car, get a hair cut and buy some cloths before returning home, you have spent more than the limit. Again, who in Washington needs to know that information, and why?
It's no secret that the unilateral seizure of the student loan program by the Obama administration has already happened. Think of filling out forms to enter engineering school and being told that you will be getting the money to become a teacher instead. Failure to repay student loans on time will be a Federal Offense in the future, not just a blemish on your credit record.
Remember the golden rule: "he who has the gold makes the rules"
The November 2010 elections put Republicans back in control of the House of Representatives. For Conservatives this is a "first" necessary step to keeping our country free from Leftist Radicals and Socialists. Also remember that Lindsey Graham is just one more "Progressive" vote in the Senate, so if you must vote "Liberal" vote for the Democrat. Senator Lindsey Graham might begin to appreciate just how shabbily he has treated South Carolinians when he is returned to private life. But, with that big fat government retirement check, maybe not.
P.S.
Should you have the occasion to speak to our esteemed Senator, be sure to tell him thanks for wanting all of us to share a joint-checking account with the government.
